What is forgiveness for?
Maybe the best way of approaching this is to ask who is it for? Forgiveness is always for Self. It is the movement of returning self to original wholeness. In a way we are about the business here of redefining what forgiveness means. How it moves and its primary objective. It is to set ourselves free from the burden of judgement, we do this by releasing ourselves from judgement within our own minds, and freeing others from the projections of our judgments upon them. The primary objective of forgiveness is to return our ‘seeing’ to innocence. Judgement distorts our seeing and therefore our vision, perception and response. We might like to ask ourselves how the world, others and indeed ourselves, would appear to us if we saw from innocence, free from all judgment? This month is devoted to the cultivation of forgiveness, not only as a concept of releasing self from judgment, but as a way of coming to sense, feel and somatically experience forgiveness as sensation, as the field of loving energy that it is. In essence this process of learning a concept and then experiencing it as a sensation with somatic feeling quality, is the backbone of the course. Bringing the qualities of energy offered by the concepts of the teachings into bodily expression as feeling and sensation. If forgiveness is the process of returning self and perception of other, to original wholeness, and forgiveness is the process of dissolving from mind the energy of judgment, then we can assume that the energy that takes us away from original wholeness is judgement. Therefore when we judge self and others we are actively engaged in the movement away from wholeness, away from connection and into separation. How do we forgive? The first movement into forgiveness is the acceptance that forgiveness is required and we know this because the body, field of emotions and mind will be misaligned with what is true, and the sensation of this is disturbing to Self. It is the feeling of being out of alignment, distorted and unwell. This sensation and field of experience can often be the default position of a body and mind in separation. When separation from the Wholeness of creation is the primary ‘reality’ then the experience will usually be grounded in misalignment, which itself is projected from the field of internal judgment. Judgment is a root causation of separation, it is like a blunt knife that drags through the fibres of Divine Reality, causing images of separateness and guilt wherever it passes. The sensations of separation will always belie what lays beneath in the field of deeper mind, as such the experience will signal to us the necessity for forgiveness. Once this has been recognised in mind then we can bring our intention to forgiveness. In my learning with Jeshua he has often spoken of the process of alchemy, which is the journey into transformation. Alchemy is a transformation of energy, initiated by the joining of three or more focusses. Alchemy may involve breath, presence, sustained awareness, touch, sound, movement of the body, stillness, allowance, intention and the Light of Spirit. These are the alchemical tools by which genuine change can be instigated in mind. Bringing together three or more of these tools into a single moment, or Holy Instant of focussed presence, can and will facilitate movements of energy that have the power to transform. Forgiveness is an alchemy grounded in the intention to dissolve judgement from mind. As with all creations this alchemy starts at the level of concept, of idea, and then through breath, focussed awareness and Light can become an embodied felt sensation. When forgiveness is embodied it restores Self energy as its original wholeness to the form, in the absence of judgement Unity will naturally emerge in the field of experience. As judgement rescinds from mind, all sensations, desires, thoughts, beliefs, fantasies and opinions return to the innocent and neutral presentations of energy that they are. In the mind that has learnt to fully forgive, which is to say that in the mind that has chosen to wholly release itself from judgement, the world is innocent. This is because the entirety of the perception that there was something ‘wrong’ with, and in the world, was and is a projection of judgement from mind. The world quite literally loses its power, as the projection of judgement ceases. As self judgement is dissolved and the judgements against the images of the past, carried like crosses within the personalities of the mind, are released from the torment of their wrongness. As the past is simply allowed to be, as it was and as it is, as the expression of the desire to know separation. As forgiveness washes through the webs of relationship between Self as consciousness, and the events of the past that have been identified with, as this unfolds so the Self becomes free to embrace what has been, in love and pure allowance. The threads of identity disentangle and there is a freedom that arises from deep within as the bondage to the past denied is set free and the core establishment of guilt, at the heart of every dreamer of this dream, fizzles into the ether. Self is known in innocence, as the past is witnessed in innocence. And the projections from a mind committed to hating self for events neutral in reality, yet judged into sinfulness, are interrupted and the world is seen in the same innocence as Self, and the natural order of original wholeness is restored. This is the power of forgiveness. It is essential in the awakening of Love within the mind and the restoration of the Child to the Cosmic Parent. Forgiveness is the wave upon which the unfolding journey of atonement surfs. When it is remembered and held as a primary focus for awareness in the coming days, weeks and months of this unfolding journey, then the progress and the process will be greatly assisted. While judgement remains and persists then the dream will linger.
